What We're All About
The NEC for Cotton Industry (NECCI) is the sole employment council in the cotton industry. Operations of the NEC are solely funded by remittances from salary deductions made on unionized employees’ salaries and equal employer contributions
OUR KEY SERVICES
Assisting parties to the NEC negotiate for the minimum terms and conditions of employment governing the cotton industry.
Early detection of contraventions or potential contraventions of employment regulations by employers or employees allows for quick and timely intervention measures to thwart or contain potential disputes. Inspections and Capacity building of parties to the NEC, among other methods, help limit labour disputes in the industry.
The NEC secretariat ensures that the employers and employees conform to the provisions of the CBAs, Labour Act, and other regulations. The Designated Agent checks and monitors the parties’ compliance with the minimum employment standards and regulations.
We offer continuous training of employees and employers to enable them to effectively and efficiently undertake their duties as specified by the law.
The Designated Agents efficiently and effectively dispose of labour disputes in terms of the law as provided for in the Labour Act, (Chapter 28:01)
Appropriate guidance and advice are expediently rendered to all of our stakeholders with regard to their employment relations enquiries and queries. Updates on labour issues are also provided through labour bulletins.
