GENERAL SECRETARY

Mrs Melody Madarani-Farirai is the General Secretary of the National Employment Council for the Cotton Industry. She is a seasoned labour expert with over 14 years’ experience. Melody worked for China-Africa Cotton Zimbabwe and Arup Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd before joining NEC Cotton. She has been with the NEC Cotton Industry for 8 years. She joined the NEC as a Designated Agent and rose up the rank to be the General Secretary, a position she has held for 5 years.

She is passionate about industrial relations, labour law and strategic management. She has strong organisational and management abilities. Melody is a holder of a Master of Commerce Degree in Strategic Management and Corporate Governance (Midlands State University), Bsc Human Resources Management Honours Degree (Midlands State University), Diploma in Personnel Management (IPMZ), Diploma in Labour Law (Conciliation and Arbitration) University of Zimbabwe.
